Public Parking

Designated spaces for veterans, mobility-impaired persons, electric vehicles, and fire lanes are always enforced and are clearly marked by signage and curb striping. Loading zones and on-street parking spaces are free on weekends and holidays, with enforcement taking place 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday. There is a2-hour maximum time limit for on-street parkingin each designated parking zone during enforcement times.

If a pay station is broken or malfunctioning, please pay at the next closest pay station or on the app. Red Stick 311 is a way to request services and report issues while on the go. It can be reached by the Red Stick 311 app, dialing 311 and speaking to an operator or filling out a form on the website. Parking is enforced by Baton Rouge Police Department.

Pay Stations

Pay stations for on-street public parking are available throughout the downtown Central Business District. Pay by credit card (please remember your license plate number to initiate a session) on the Flowbird app, kiosk, or pay by text. The cost is $0.25 per 15 minutes with a 2-hour maximum time limit for parking per parking zone.
Tickets for expired parking and other violations start at $10 (effective 4/29/2024).

Flowbird

Flowbird is the company managing payments for on-street parking. Flowbird allows you to pay for parking at Flowbird enabled pay stations and by phone.

When using Flowbird, you choose how long you want to park and pay for that amount of time. When the expiration time approaches, you can receive a text alert allowing you to extend your time (within the maximum time limit for that area). Private Parking

Surface lots, which are privately owned, always require payment and/or authorization from the manager or owner. Any questions on the usage of any individual surface lot should be directed to the management company.

Parking Garages

Parking Garages are also private and require payment for usage. The Galvez State Garage is available to park for free from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. On weekends, the Raising Canes River Center Garages are only open to the public during large events; if you have questions regarding future parking availability, contact 225-389-3306. River Center Garages, Welcome Center Garage, and the Galvez Garage are available for daily use during business hours. The LaSalle Garage is open 24/7 to the public.
