    The use and misuse of substances such as alcohol, tobacco, and drugs including prescription, impacts physical health, mental well-being, financial wellness and more. These resources offer lifestyle change programs, support, and tools to improve overall health and well-being.

    • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)and the Bowen Center
    • Purdue Fort Wayne Tobacco Cessation Program: Benefits-eligible employees and benefited spouses on the Purdue medical plan who smoke may enroll in Tobacco Cessation Programs and receive discounts on their health insurance premiums.

    Purdue University offers a variety of family-friendly benefits and programs to assist employees in balancing work and life. The University has campus-based services that fulfill needs for the 21st century work-life demands of all faculty, staff and students.

    • Family Friendly Practices and Benefits: Learn more about university sponsored health plans, flexible work guidelines, leaves including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Paid Parental Leaves (PPL), Mother and Child benefits and more.
    • Future Moms: Discover how this wellness program from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield can answer questions, help expecting parents make good choices and follow their health care provider's plan of care. It also provides helpful resources and tools throughout pregnancy and can help women have a safe delivery and healthy child.
    • Lactation Support Program: Join this program and receive an information packet for expecting mothers. Resources are available to help employees be successful in their transition back to work after having a child. A list of lactation rooms located throughout the campus for nursing mothers to use is also available. Sign up for the program.
    • Elder Care Resources: These resources offer help, support, programs, and more to assist employees who are either caring for their parent(s) or who caring for their parents as well as their own children.
