Breaking Down Georgia's Arrest & Tom's Murder

Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Ending Explained (1)

At the end of Ginny & Georgia season 2, Georgia and Paul’s wedding is interrupted by Georgia’s surprising arrest for the murder of Tom Fuller, Cynthia’s husband. Though Tom died earlier in season 2, it didn’t seem like there was any suspicion of foul play (besides by Gabriel Cordova, who has it out for Georgia), so Georgia’s arrest is shocking to everyone in attendance. While Georgia’s future is left hanging in the balance at the end of the Netflix show’s season 2 finale, the answers to what happened with Tom’s death reside in a past episode.

In the penultimate episode of Ginny & Georgia season 2, Georgia has a conversation with Cynthia Fuller that influenced her decision to kill Tom. Cynthia confides the toll that Tom’s illness has taken on her and her concern about how it will affect their son’s perception of his father. Georgia empathizes with Cynthia, as she too has taken a lot of care to make sure that Austin has a good image of his father in spite of her own relationship with Gil, which is why she kills Tom. This makes Tom’s murder different for Georgia, as his killing is out of mercy and empathy rather than self-preservation or anger.

Why Paul Still Married Georgia Despite Her Lies

Georgia’s natural inclination after the incident with Gil is to leave town for a new beginning yet again, but come to gether as her daughter convinces her to confess what happened to Paul. This leads to Georgia telling the truth to Paul about everything she’s ever lied about (minus the murders, of course). Understandably, Paul reacts poorly, but at the end of the season 2 finale, the two Ginny & Georgia characters end up tying the knot anyway. Though Paul is a kind, understanding man, it is hard to wrap one’s head around why he would still marry Georgia after she had lied to him since the moment they met.

Although Paul acknowledges that it is not smart for him to marry Georgia for a multitude of reasons, he ultimately marries her because he knows he loves her too much to stay away from her. This harkens back to Paul’s proposal to Georgia in in which he tells her they are “cut from the same cloth.” Upon their reconciliation, Georgia affirms this sentiment, stating they’re a team. Despite their rocky beginning, Paul and Georgia get married because they provide each other a chance at a life and love they didn’t know was possible before and would now do anything to keep each other in their lives.

What Happens To Ginny & Austin Now

Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Ending Explained (3)

Ginny and Austin Miller have spent their whole lives in the care of Georgia, but now that Georgia has been arrested, what will happen to Ginny and Austin? Since Gil is now fully out of the picture thanks to Paul, it’s certain that Ginny and Austin will remain together, although who will take care of them in Georgia’s absence is not quite as clear. One option would be for the kids to remain with Paul. Though he isn’t their biological parent, he did marry Georgia prior to her arrest and already lives at their house, which would maintain some sense of familiarity for the kids while Georgia is gone.

The other more likely option is that Ginny and Austin will go stay with Zion. Since Zion is Ginny’s biological father, it would make the most sense for her to stay with him. Although Zion isn’t Austin’s biological father, he is equally familiar with both kids, even taking care of them when they ran away from home at the end of . Therefore, Zion would be well-equipped to care for the two Miller kids, making him a likely option to step in for Georgia in her absence.

Will Ginny & Marcus Get Back Together?

Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Ending Explained (4)

Near the end of Ginny & Georgia season 2, Ginny and Marcus break up. Both Ginny & Georgia characters have been through a lot in season 2 and are clearly struggling with their mental health. Their eventual breakup serves as a reflection of their personal issues rather than a lack of love for each other. This is evident from the fact that Marcus still showed up to Georgia and Paul’s wedding. However, the question still remains: will the former lovers rekindle their romance in the Netflix show?

It’s hard to say for sure if Marcus and Ginny will get back together in a future season of Ginny & Georgia. Even though both are clearly still in love with the other and are committed to still being friends, both have huge personal demons they need to battle before they can consider being in another relationship. Though Marcus and Ginny’s relationship has overcome the odds in the past, the season 2 finale intentionally leaves the future of their relationship ambiguous, which will hopefully be explored more in-depth in a future season.

Leftover Questions After Ginny & Georgia Season 2's Ending

Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Ending Explained (5)

Season finales are typically meant to tie everything from the season together, but Ginny & Georgia’s season 2 finale leaves more questions than answers. Most of the questions relate back to Georgia’s arrest. The biggest leftover question from the Netflix show's season 2 is what is going to happen to Georgia, as well as the issue of how her crime was discovered, since no one witnessed it but Austin (accidentally). Another big question pertaining to Georgia’s arrest is how it will affect her family and what will happen to the kids. They have already been through a tough time since the incident with Gil, and their mother’s arrest adds even more stress.

Outside of Georgia’s arrest, which is the biggest issue at the end of Ginny & Georgia season 2, there are several questions that the Netflix show leaves audiences with. The second biggest question 's potential season 3 is whether Ginny and Marcus will rekindle their romance, or if they will find new love interests. There are also other threats to the Miller family to consider, such as whether Gil might return despite the restraining order or what Gabriel might have told Nick. All the leftover questions at the end of Ginny & Georgia season 2 make for a juicy season 3 setup, though time will tell if the Netflix show will get renewed.
