I guess Craigslist is now fully useless in my area. I can't imagine there is anything that can be done about an a$$hat who is abusing a free platform.
One user now has placed more than 500 listings for his 12 items. He's been a notorious over-poster for over a year-and-a-half, but this is far worse than it has ever been. Here is a screenshot of his 76 listings for his "Steve Stevens" guitar. He's asking $850 for a model that lists for $350 on Reverb, so there's not even the hope that he'll sell it and take down the listings.
The same guy has listed his four Washburn guitars a total of 126 times; two Jacksons and a Jackson hard case are listed 122 times; a carbon "spring" microphone is listed 34 times. I just went back and looked, and he's added six more postings since I started this post.
Thank goodness for FB Marketplace, I guess.

Man, I hate that kind of stuff. There’s a guy just over the hills that posts as an “owner” but spams like a “dealer.”

I find it kinda hilarious that such a spammer would pick Steve Stevens lol. Sounds like some guy with English as second language and stuck in the past like "Yes, Steve Stevens play Top Gun movie theme and Americans love Tom Cruise so yes Steve Stevens is guitarist I chose...."

Every place has got them. I just block and/or flag all their ads. I would question anything that would drive you to be thankful for anything related to f*ckupyourlifebook.

That sucks. We have a couple of local pawn stores that occasionally spam the "By Owner" listings, but it's nowhere near this.

Oh, he may not be fluent in English, but I don't think it's a second language.

I guess each area has its own personality. I've never had any problems on Marketplace. All the scammers here have been via CL.

We have a local "vintage" music shop here in town. Several times each week, they post the same, several dozen items (at insane "vintage" prices). That is bad enough, but they always list as "Owner," instead of dealer.
Every month, or so, people post complaints about this business on CL. In response, this business turns around and posts them all again, as a big insult to every other CL user. This has been happening for years now.
I will never, never do business with these people.
